In the last 8 years this small community has suffered extreme degradation of wild forests for charcoal production, dismantling and burning around the same source of the river without any regulation by the authorities.

This situation creates an environment lacking food and sustainability.

The Ecoforesta USA,  program establishes, in a first phase, community centers for training, germination, and sowing. With these operational systems we can empower rural communities like Juan Pio to increase their economy by creating jobs and at the same time training young people to manage compost production, vermiculture, biodynamic and biointensive planting. At the same time promoting international ecotourism, hiking backpacking and mountain biking.
